NEWS!!!!!
10/18/04: Good, she's not dead. Nope. Just extremely
busy with school and various activities. Updated the site on bush (1600 Pennsylvania Ave.) with an essay (well, letter
really) on the War on Iraq. Enjoy.
9/13/04: Well it's been a long while. President Bush has
managed to kill 1,000 American soldiers and tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens in his quest for non-existant weapons
of mass destruction. John Kerry has been nominated officially by the Democrats (though I liked Kucinich). Rich
James died. The anniversary of 9/11 passed without incident, as did the Fourth of July and my 20th birthday. The
Federal Marriage Amendment was shot down in Congress, but it's not the end of the war against the "Gay Agenda" for the crusading
right.
I haven't much to update right now. All summer I had to make due without any decent internet access, but now I'm
back at college and able to make good use of my University's ethernet connection speed. When I get things to update
with I will be posting.
3/4/04: Since the last update, President Bush has called for an
amendment to ban same-sex marriage, San Fransisco has allowed same sex marriage, and the Unborn Victims of Violence Act has
passed in the house. What's wrong with this? Well, President Bush has decided that gay and lesbian people are
not worthy of equal rights to the benefits of marriage, San Fransisco marriages right now will not be reccognized by any other
place, and the Unborn Victims of Violence Act is an antichoice agenda to promote fetal rights in an attempt to erode abortion
rights.
in site news: I'm adding a personal section with stuff about me, links to other places, and all
that good stuff.
12/4/03: The "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is creating problems in the
military again. Several linguists are being dismissed from the military because they are gay, even though some are Arabic translators. This is absolutely ridiculous. So what if they're
gay? They can speak Arabic and it's a skill that is needed right now. You need them. Get over it.
They should eradicate the "no gays in the military" rule, it's become absurd. Would that work if we reinstate the draft?
Wouldn't that be redundant? It's not like it's a physical defect keeping these men and women from fighting. Going
into the LGBT Ally section.
11/20/03: A friend of mine posted this petition on her journal and I thought I would post the address here. Gay men who have had sex with men since 1977 are not
allowed to donate blood, regardless of if they are HIV-. My view: The HIV virus sometimes can remain undetectable
for up to 6 months after infection. However, since 1977 is absurd. Mandatory STI/HIV testing should be for all
blood donors, not just gay men/women. This rule is perpetuating the homophobic stereotype that all gay men have
HIV/AIDS and that it is only a "gay disease". So please sign this.
11/18/03: Today Massachusettes declared that a ban on same sex marriage
is deemed unconstitutional!!!!! This is GREAT news! More info on CNN.com. Hopefully other states will soon follow suit!
10/22/03: Yesterday Congress voted for the first time to ban a
medically proven procedure. Of course I'm talking about the abortive procedure called Intact Dialation and Extraction,
commonly refered to by it's anti-choice propaganda name "partial birth abortion." Intact D&X is the medical term
and the term I prefer to use. Anyway, the vote is on it's way to Bush's desk which he has vowed to sign. The ban
makes no exception for the life of the woman, which is the primary reason it never was passed during the Clinton administration.
However, apparently Bush and his cronies don't care. Info on that can be found here.
Also on the Bush administration, I have found good site explaining why we need to get this
man out of office. It's for the feminists out there. Go here.
10/17/03: Today is almost the end of the dreaded "Marriage Protection
Week" which has been initiated by George W. Bush and his religious right croonies. For those of you who are not informed,
starting the 12th of October and running until the 19th, George Bush declared "Marriage Protection Week" aimed at denying
the right of same sex couples to marry. Personally, I have deep seeded issues with Bush to begin with, but this is denying
people EQUAL RIGHTS, not special rights. And that is not fair.
